About the event

Two crime writers for the price of one!

Join us for an evening in conversation with acclaimed crime writers, Tim Sullivan & J S Monroe.

Tim’s crime series, set in Bristol, featuring the socially awkward but brilliantly persistent DSGeorge Cross, has been widely acclaimed and topped the book charts. The Monk is the fifth in the series.

Tim Sullivan is a crime writer, screenwriter and director whose film credits include A Handful of Dust, Jack and Sarah and Cold Feet. Early in his career he directed Jeremy Brett’s iconic portrayal of Sherlock Holmes in ITV’s The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes cementing his lifelong passion for crime fiction.

'DS George Cross is as arresting as the cases he solves.' - RICHARD E. GRANT

“A perfect detective for our time and for all time.” - STEPHEN FRY

Inspired by Bristol's macabre medical past, J S Monroe's new novel No Place to Hide marries modern surveillance culture with dark academia themes. · The book is a loose retelling of Dr Faustus, a play about a frustrated academic that’s dripping in gothic themes.

His psychological thriller Find Me became a bestseller in 2017, and, under the name Jon Stock, he is also the author of five spy thrillers. The first of which, Dead Spy Running’ was bought by Warner Brothers for a Hollywood film with Stephen Gaghan (Syriana) writing the screen play.

'Clever, convincing and wickedly twisty… Highly recommended.’ - MICK HERRON

'An intelligent and inventive thriller that grips to the very last page.' - J.P.DELANEY
